ITT Space Systems Division has awarded Web Seal Inc. continuing Approved Supplier
Status after the division’s quality audit. The announcement was made by Jeffrey P. John, PE, manager of SSD Supplier
Quality Assurance.
Since its work with the lunar orbiters of the 1960s, ITT Space Systems has been
bringing an innovative approach to assisting its customers in the U.S. Department of Defense, intelligence, NASA, space science
and commercial aerospace in visualizing, understanding, and taking timely action for, critical events happening on earth,
in the air, or in space. From components to complete payload integration, their comprehensive offering includes:
- Intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems, which collect images and related
information critical to national security
- Image information, which provides productivity enhancements to help analysts generate,
visualize, exploit and disseminate information

New Manufacturing Software Leads to Better Info for Customers
Being able to quickly obtain accurate, real-time information on every stage of a
customer’s order has been enhanced as Web Seal installs new manufacturing software from Shoptech Software. The
new software is improving how we track and schedule jobs, as well as streamlining the management of our quality system.
Web Seal typically processes over two million parts per month. As a custom
fabricator and distributor, where volume of orders can range from one part to a million, scheduling is a major aspect of our
operations. Conversion to the new system began February 2006, with the final phase becoming operational later this year.
E2 is the same shop system selected by NASA’s Langley Research Center.
Shoptech Software, an American-owned and operated company, is the largest privately held provider of shop management software
with over 3,000 installations worldwide. According to E2, their Shop System has been around since 1984 and is the only product
on the market today that evolved out of an actual job shop.
